A Bridgeport man has been sentenced to five years in federal prison for unlawfully possessing a firearm, according to an announcement from David X. Sullivan, United States Attorney for the District of Connecticut.

Marques Isiah Lindsay, 37, received a sentence of 60 months in prison and three years of supervised release from U.S. District Judge Stefan R. Underhill in Bridgeport.

Court documents state that on September 17, 2023, Bridgeport Police attempted to stop a vehicle in which Lindsay was a passenger near Washington Terrace. After the vehicle pulled over, Lindsay exited from the back seat and tried to flee on foot. He was apprehended shortly after. A search found him carrying a loaded Glock 26 9mm handgun with an extended magazine, another extended magazine, and $420 in cash.

Lindsay has a criminal record spanning about two decades with felony convictions for drug offenses, robbery, larceny, and other crimes. Federal law prohibits anyone previously convicted of a felony offense from possessing firearms or ammunition that have moved through interstate or foreign commerce.

Lindsay has remained detained since his arrest. On October 1, 2025, he pleaded guilty to unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon.

The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) and the Bridgeport Police Department conducted the investigation. Assistant U.S. Attorney Kenneth L. Gresham prosecuted the case.
