Christopher Santiago-Rosado, a 32-year-old resident of Bridgeport, has been sentenced to five years in federal prison for his role in distributing fentanyl. The sentencing was handed down by U.S. District Judge Victor A. Bolden in New Haven.

The case stems from an investigation conducted in 2024 by the FBI’s Bridgeport Safe Streets Task Force and the Bridgeport Police Department. Authorities targeted an open-air drug market operating near Noble Avenue and Shelton Street in Bridgeport. Over several months, investigators carried out 11 controlled purchases of narcotics from different sellers. Court documents indicate that the operation included court-authorized wiretaps and physical surveillance, which led to the identification of Santiago-Rosado and others as suppliers of fentanyl to these sellers.

Santiago-Rosado was arrested on February 13, 2025. He later pleaded guilty on November 3, 2025, to conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute, and to distribute, at least 40 grams of fentanyl.

He is currently free on a $150,000 bond but must report to prison on March 26. Upon release from prison, he will be subject to four years of supervised release.

The investigation involved collaboration between the FBI Bridgeport Safe Streets Task Force—which includes members from the FBI, Connecticut State Police, and police departments from Bridgeport, Norwalk, and Trumbull—as well as officers from the Stratford Police Department. Assistant U.S. Attorney Lauren C. Clark is prosecuting the case.
