The Superior Court of Connecticut announced on May 6 that the Sentence Review Division will hold hearings at the Middletown courthouse, located at 1 Court Street, on Tuesday, April 28, 2026. The session is scheduled to begin at 9:00 a.m. in courtroom 5-1.

The announcement lists requirements for all applicants and their legal representatives. It states that all applicants, their attorneys, and guardians ad litem (if the applicant is a minor) must be present remotely and will have an opportunity to be heard during the proceedings. Attorneys are warned that failure to appear or obtain a continuance through the Secretary of the Sentence Review Division may result in sanctions under Connecticut General Statutes Section 51-84.

Additional guidance includes notifying the division if an interpreter is needed and clarifies that cases will be reviewed according to C.G.S. §51-196. The Sentence Review Division has authority to increase, decrease, modify or affirm original sentences as part of its review process. Inclement weather announcements related to Middlesex Judicial District Courthouse also apply to these hearings.

A detailed schedule lists applicants by location with information including defense counsel names and docket numbers. Some cases require interpreters or note judicial recusals; several are continued or rescheduled for later dates in September, October, November of 2026 or beyond.

For further information regarding these hearings or procedures related to sentence reviews within Connecticut’s judicial system, contact details are provided for the Sentence Review Division at its Wethersfield office.
