The Connecticut Superior Court’s Sentence Review Division has scheduled a series of hearings for Tuesday, February 24, 2026, beginning at 9:00 a.m. The hearings will take place remotely in Courtroom 5-1 at the courthouse located at 1 Court Street in Middletown.

All applicants, along with their attorneys and guardians ad litem if they are minors, are required to be present remotely and will have the opportunity to be heard during these proceedings. Attorneys are reminded that failure to appear or secure a continuance through the Secretary of the Sentence Review Division may result in sanctions as outlined in C.G.S. § 51-84.

Interpreters will be provided upon request. The court asks participants to notify the Sentence Review Division if an interpreter is needed for any case.

Cases will be reviewed under the guidelines of C.G.S. §51-196. The Sentence Review Division holds the authority to increase, decrease, modify, or affirm original sentences as part of its review process.

Any inclement weather announcements that affect the Middlesex Judicial District Courthouse will also apply to these hearings.

The docket includes cases from various judicial districts across Connecticut such as Bridgeport, Hartford, New Haven, New London, Stamford, Milford, Waterbury, and others. Some cases require interpreters; for example, Oscar Isaias Hernandez and Iris Perez both need Spanish-speaking interpreters for their video appearances.

A number of cases have been continued to later dates throughout 2026 due to various reasons including administrative continuances and judge recusals. Some applicants are appearing via video from correctional facilities such as MacDougall-Walker Correctional Institution (MacDougall), Cheshire Correctional Institution (Cheshire), Corrigan-Radgowski Correctional Center (Corrigan), Garner Correctional Institution (Garner), Robinson Correctional Institution (Robinson), Osborn Correctional Institution (Osborn), Brooklyn Correctional Institution (Brooklyn), and York Correctional Institution (York).

For further information or questions about specific cases or hearing logistics, parties can contact the Sentence Review Division at its Wethersfield office by telephone at 860-263-2735.
