A Connecticut man has been sentenced to more than 10 years in federal prison for distributing fentanyl, a case linked to two fatal overdoses. Daqwon Graham, also known as “Seagull” and “Energy,” age 31, from Ansonia, received a sentence of 130 months of imprisonment followed by five years of supervised release. U.S. District Judge Vernon D. Oliver imposed the sentence in Hartford.
According to court records and statements made during proceedings, law enforcement identified Graham as a significant distributor of fentanyl in Fairfield County. The Drug Enforcement Administration’s Bridgeport High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area (HIDTA) Task Force and Stamford Police Department connected his activities to the overdose deaths of a male victim in Branford in March 2023 and a female victim in Shelton in October 2024.
Investigators conducted multiple controlled purchases of fentanyl mixed with xylazine from Graham during January and February 2025. On February 26, 2025, authorities arrested him in Stamford after arranging the purchase of a large quantity of fentanyl. Officers found approximately 400 grams of fentanyl on his person, along with additional amounts of cocaine and crack cocaine.
Graham has remained detained since his arrest. He pleaded guilty on July 23, 2025, to possession with intent to distribute at least 400 grams of fentanyl.
The HIDTA Task Force involved personnel from several agencies including the DEA Bridgeport Resident Office, Connecticut State Police, and police departments from Bridgeport, Danbury, Norwalk, Stamford, and Stratford. Assistant U.S. Attorney Lauren C. Clark prosecuted the case.
David X. Sullivan, United States Attorney for the District of Connecticut stated: “DAQWON GRAHAM…was sentenced today by U.S. District Judge Vernon D. Oliver in Hartford to 130 months of imprisonment, followed by five years of supervised release, for a fentanyl trafficking offense.”
