A New York man has been sentenced to five years of probation for making a series of harassing and threatening communications to a Connecticut resident. The sentencing took place in Bridgeport before U.S. District Judge Kari A. Dooley.
According to court documents, Elijah Whyte, 30, from White Plains, New York, sent 1,330 text messages, made 72 phone calls, and left three voicemail messages between August and October 2023. Many of these communications included threats regarding the victim’s safety and references to the victim’s children and home.
Whyte had been detained since November 1, 2023. He pleaded guilty on May 16, 2025, to making repeated harassing telephone communications.
The case was investigated by the Federal Bureau of Investigation and prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Daniel George.
David X. Sullivan, United States Attorney for the District of Connecticut, stated: “ELIJAH WHYTE, 30, of White Plains, New York, was sentenced yesterday by U.S. District Judge Kari A. Dooley in Bridgeport to five years of probation for making numerous harassing and threatening communications.”
